Currently, 4.38 million Ukrainians are under protection in the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What this means for those already in Spain:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Protection will be extended automatically - no need to re-apply at the EU level (the procedure will be determined by each country separately)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Housing, work, medicine, children&#039;s education, social assistance - everything is preserved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No new conditions appear for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important change for NEW applicants.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Men of military age who apply for protection after the decision comes into force will need to confirm legal departure from Ukraine. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>with a border crossing stamp in the passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a document on deferment or dismissal from service (paper or electronic)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once again: this requirement does not apply to those who are ALREADY under protection in the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EU is already preparing a plan for a gradual transition from temporary protection to long-term statuses.
