Below is a detailed overview by region, as well as a comparative table of holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Andalusia (Andaluc\u00eda)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Beginning of the school year:<\/strong> September 10, 2025 \u2013 for preschools, primary schools and special education; September 15 \u2013 for secondary schools (ESO), high schools (baccalaureate) and vocational education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>End of the school year:<\/strong> June 22, 2026 \u2013 official end of classes for most levels (preschool, elementary, and high school). Each educational institution can choose <strong>4 days a year<\/strong> for additional local weekends in agreement with the authorities, plus 2 local public holidays are added in each municipality. Graduates of the 2nd year of the bachelor&#039;s degree and some special programs will complete their studies earlier - <strong>May 22, 2026<\/strong>, and language schools \u2013 <strong>May 29, 2026<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winter holidays:<\/strong> with <strong>December 22, 2025<\/strong> on <strong>January 7, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Easter holidays:<\/strong> with <strong>March 27<\/strong> on <strong>April 6, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive. <em>(In Castile and Leon, the Easter holidays will begin a little earlier, on Friday, March 27.)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Summer vacation:<\/strong> from June 24, 2026 (after completion of classes) to September 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Holidays and non-working days:<\/strong> In addition to national holidays, the region celebrates <strong>April 23 \u2013 Castile and Leon Day<\/strong> (Autonomous Community Day, which coincides with St. George&#039;s Day). Final exams for 2nd year of bachelor&#039;s degree end by June 12, 2026 (classes for graduates end earlier due to exam preparation).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winter holidays:<\/strong> with <strong>December 20, 2025<\/strong> on <strong>January 7, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Easter holidays:<\/strong> with <strong>March 28<\/strong> on <strong>April 6, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Summer vacation:<\/strong> from June 19, 2026 to the beginning of September 2026 (the first school day of 2026\u20132027 in Catalonia usually falls on the second week of September).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Holidays and non-working days:<\/strong> All schools in Catalonia are closed. <strong>September 11, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 on Catalonia Day (the region&#039;s national holiday). In June (after June 1) and September (until September 30), a shortened school day (classes only in the morning) may be implemented for primary school and kindergarten students in Ceuta.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winter holidays:<\/strong> with <strong>December 20, 2025<\/strong> on <strong>January 7, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Easter holidays:<\/strong> with <strong>March 30<\/strong> on <strong>April 1, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive. <em>(This is a shorter Easter holiday period, as Ceuta takes into account other religious holidays in the spring.)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Summer vacation:<\/strong> from June 22, 2026 to September 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Holidays and non-working days:<\/strong> In the city of Ceuta, schools, in addition to national holidays, also observe local religious holidays of the Muslim community. In particular, <strong>March 20, 2026<\/strong> (Friday) has been declared a holiday to mark the end of the month of Ramadan. <strong>May 25 and 26, 2026<\/strong> (Monday-Tuesday) \u2013 non-working days on the occasion of the Feast of Sacrifice <em>Eid al-Adha<\/em>In March 2026, due to the coincidence of the end of Ramadan with the week before Easter, schools will have an additional weekend with <strong>March 20 to 27, 2026<\/strong> (week break). Adult education programs will start on September 15, and courses in art and language schools will start between September 15 and 25, 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>End of the school year:<\/strong> June 19, 2026 is the last day of classes in kindergartens, elementary schools, secondary schools, lyceums, and most vocational schools. Adult courses and art schools will end a little earlier - <strong>June 12, 2026<\/strong>, but in state foreign language schools, studies will continue until June 19.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winter holidays:<\/strong> with <strong>December 23, 2025<\/strong> on <strong>January 6, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Easter holidays (in the region - Easter holidays):<\/strong> with <strong>April 2 to 13, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive. <em>(Return to classes is April 14, 2026, as the break will last until Monday, April 13, inclusive.)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Summer vacation:<\/strong> from June 19, 2026 to September 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Holidays and non-working days:<\/strong> The following holiday dates are officially designated for the academic year: <strong>October 9, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Valencian Community Day (in honor of the anniversary of autonomy), <strong>March 19, 2026<\/strong> \u2013 the feast of Saint Joseph (this day marks the culmination of the Fallas festival). Also, as in all of Spain, schools are closed on December 6 (Constitution Day), <strong>December 8<\/strong> (Immaculate Conception) and <strong>May 1<\/strong> (Labor Day). <em>Note:<\/em> Some municipalities may establish additional local holidays in agreement with the city government.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Extremadura<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Beginning of the school year:<\/strong> September 11, 2025 \u2013 in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools (ESO); <strong>September 12<\/strong> \u2013 the beginning of classes in the 1st year of undergraduate studies; <strong>May 8, 2026<\/strong> \u2013 completion of classes in the final (2nd) years of undergraduate studies (due to early final exams).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>End of the school year:<\/strong> June 19, 2026 - completion of classes for most students (Infantil, Primaria, ESO); June 18 - for 1st year bachelor&#039;s degrees; June 12 - completion of classes in professional colleges; May 8 - for bachelor&#039;s graduates (2nd year).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winter holidays:<\/strong> with <strong>December 22, 2025<\/strong> on <strong>January 7, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Easter holidays:<\/strong> with <strong>March 30<\/strong> on <strong>April 6, 2026<\/strong> year inclusive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Summer vacation:<\/strong> from June 19, 2026 (after completion of main classes) to September 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Holidays and non-working days:<\/strong> September 8, 2025 (Extremadura Day) falls on the beginning of the school year, so this day has been declared a holiday in the region. Also closed will be <strong>November 27 and 28, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Teacher&#039;s Day and the Friday after it. Two weekends are planned for Maslenitsa: <strong>February 16 and 17, 2026<\/strong> (Carnival days).
